Review requests should normally be submitted by the publisher. Reviews are limited to recent publications that are related to or relevant to Asia in a clearly identifiable way.
Please use the form below to request reviews before sending books to us. If we are able to review a book, we generally ask for review copies be sent directly to reviewers and will provide the despatching details. Physical copies are usually required. We cannot undertake to review every book proposed to us or received by us, and books sent to us cannot be returned.
Writing for the ARB
Most of our reviewers are themselves published authors. (You can see a full list on our Contributors page.) We receive many more requests for reviews than offers to act as a reviewer. By offering to review, you increase the probability of reviews for all authors. If you are interested, please read on.
Our reviewers are located worldwide. If you would like to contribute to the community of writers and readers of good books by reviewing for us, and have relevant expertise in literature, teaching, business, technology, etc., please email the Editor with details of your experience and interests and include links to writing samples.
The Asian Review of Books does not pay for book reviews, and unsolicited submissions are rarely accepted for publication. Please check first before going to the trouble of writing and submitting a review.
Note to publicists and PR agencies
Please ensure your pitches are as relevant as possible to the Asian Review of Books. If we have reviewed the author before, please mention it. As our focus is Asia, western events or other issues are not part of our consideration.
