Asian Review of Books editor Peter Gordon was named “Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia” (“Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy”) at a ceremony in Hong Kong on 3 June. The award is made by the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, for Gordon having, in the words of Italian Consul-General Clemente Contestabile, “contributed greatly to the promotion of Italian Opera over the last thirty years”.
